Rubbing the pinetar on season 2012

Well, I just wanted to stop by and thank you guys again for this site and you effort toward it. I love you as a resource that almost no one else uses but I also hope that doesn't end up spelling doom for it's future.
I have had some trouble this year as the league sink feature is just not functioning for me. That almost lead me to disregard the site this year until I realized that I hadn't even gone to the custom rankings. They are working as well as in previous years and I'm so grateful you offer the ability to export it to a spreadsheet.
I've brought this up previously and tried to figure out a solution myself, but I was wondering if you've been developing a way to assign dollar values. I'm still not in an auction league but eventually I believe I'll be able to persuade my league in that direction and auction values based on your rankings would really put this site over the top. My background in statistics consist of being obsessed with fantasy baseball and researching anything I can to gain an advantage but perhaps I can dig up what I had worked on in this regard and that might turn into something useful.
I do hope this site can be a profitable endeavor for you or at least you can keep maintaining it with your fantasy sports winnings. Best of luck.

Thanks! I've said this before, but your support means a ton... it's what keeps us going :)

We're still trucking: partnered with CBS (as you know) and even won "Rookie of the Year" in the Fantasy Industry. But, still we need a ton of help getting the word out, so like I said, your support really helps.

Are you still having problems with the league sync? Let me know if so.

Let me know what you come up with! We haven't had time to dive into this yet, but I assume you could use zTotals, factor in your salary cap, factor in how many players you need, and it shouldn't be too tricky. Definitely something we need though, thanks for the reminder.

Thanks again! Good luck this season and keep the feedback coming :)

Hi there -

Just stumbled upon your site today, and find it really, really cool. I have a couple of newbie-type questions that I'm hoping I could get some help on. Is there a detailed starter's/newbie guide around? I found the questions with short, one-graph answers, but didn't know if there was a primer.

I'm assuming the stats are projections for the 2012 season? (Only reason I ask, is that when I download the .csvm, it's called 2011?)

What is the consistency rating? I'm assuming the Z-Rating is a rating that's overall "best", and ranking in descending order gives you the best to worst overall?

Thanks so much for what you guys do. this is fantastic!

There's no great guide, but check out the help pages (for example) and a lot of good stuff has been covered in the forum.

Yeah, have no fear, these are in fact 2012 projections... just a bug :|

This is covered in a bit more detail in the help pages I linked you to, but sounds like you've already got the gist! The consistency rating tells you how consistent a player is from game to game, compared to his per game averages. It's scaled from 0 to 10, the higher, the more consistent. zTotal is a sum of zScores, which are values assigned to each category... the higher the better. We default sort to zRank, which is basically just zTotal in rank form (having removed the players that DNQ or "do not qualify").

Hope that helps! Thanks for the support and don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions :)
